About the Role

We are delighted to work with a well respected hospital based in the Lancashire area, which is looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow Tier 2 level Neonates. 
 
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in the neonatal intensive care specialty. This post offers the opportunity for successful candidates to develop and learn a range of skills in a tertiary neonatal intensive care unit including High Frequency Oscillation, inhaled Nitric Oxide, and Therapeutic Hypothermia. The new state of the art Unit is in the purpose-built Women and Children’s Building. The successful candidate will be part of the clinical team and will take part in the Tier Two, second on-call rota.

Person Specification

Essential

 
•    Full registration with the GMC and with a Licence to Practice
•    Neonatal tertiary experience is necessary
•    Basic medical qualification (MB BS or equivalent)
•    Higher degree MRCPCH or equivalent

Job Summary

Applications are invited for a full-time post in the NICU department at the Hospital. The Senior Clinical Fellow post is ST4-8 equivalent and will be for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

Duties will be in the neonatal department on the Tier 2 rota. There will be a mixture of long day/night shifts [12.5 hours] and shorter day shifts. Duties will be divided between Intensive/High Dependency Care, Special and Transitional Care, and the care of infants in the post-natal wards. Duties will be shared with senior trainees [ST4-8] and senior Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and supervision and education will be provided by Consultants. Although the post is not formally recognised for specialist training by the NW of England Deanery, the incumbent will have an educational supervisor and access to the training opportunities afforded to other doctors in training in the department.

Manchester has very good transport links via car, train or tram.  It also has an international airport with a low cost of living.

Consultant in Stroke Medicine

I am delighted to announce that a vacancy for a Consultant in Stroke Medicine has become available at a district general hospital based within the Lincolnshire area. The Trust provides a wide range of healthcare services delivered by 7,800 highly trained staff and volunteers. Our services cost over £400m each year to provide, and we invest around £18m each year in improving our clinical services by replacing and upgrading our medical equipment, modernising our estate and facilities, and improving our information and technology infrastructure. In an average year, we treat more than 180,000 A&E patients, nearly half a million outpatients, and almost 100,000 inpatients. There is a separate 1:6 Stroke On-Call rota on the Lincoln Site and the Stroke Physicians do not have any commitment to the acute medicine on call rota. There is no in-patient stroke service at the Pilgrim hospital site. The medical team is supported by up to 5 registrar-level specialty doctors, as well as a minimum of 3 resident trainees. 24/7 thrombolysis is provided on Site backed by a full hyper-acute Stroke Unit. The Trust has consolidated down to a single Hyper-Acute Unit as part of wider service reconfiguration following a public consultation of the Acute Services Review. There are excellent established links with the region. Fixed Term Consultant Respiratory Medicine

I am delighted to announce that a vacancy for a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine has become available at a district general hospital based within the Lincolnshire area. The hospital is in is a large and modern complex, catering for the majority of major specialties, and has 557 acute beds. There are 172 beds for acute general medical and elderly care, including coronary care and renal care, as well as a 51-bed medical emergency admission unit and an 18-bed surgical admissions unit. Additionally, there is a 19-bed Frailty Unit. The 10 side-room Respiratory Support Unit (4 negative pressure rooms) opened in summer 2021. A sizable, well-staffed Accident and Emergency Department is available. At the moment, the hospital has 108 general surgical beds, a 20-bed critical care unit (levels 2 and 3), a ten theatre operating suite, and three orthopaedic wards. The Hospital employs five respiratory physicians on a full-time basis, with an additional three locum physicians supporting. Outpatient Clinics are held at the Hospital. The Respiratory Medicine Service annually sees in excess of 900 non-elective admissions, 300-day cases, and 2000 first outpatient appointments. The Department of Respiratory Medicine is part of the Specialty Medicine Clinical Business Unit.
