The department is actively seeking an additional Consultant Gastroenterologist with an interest in therapeutic GI Endoscopy to support growing and evolve our Gastroenterology services. Main duties of the job The main duties and responsibilities of the Consultants are: Consultant of the week 7-Day - Inpatient (1:8 weeks) Outpatient Duties (7:8 weeks) 24 Hr Out of Hours Upper GI Emergency Endoscopy Out of Hours Rota (1in8) Total Direct Clinical Care (DCC): 7.5 PA Support Professional Activities (SPA) - 2.5 SPA OFF ward (7:8 weeks, 1.5 SPA On Ward (1:7 weeks) Options to increase clinical or management PAs (by discussion, max 12 PA total) Innovations to improve local services will be supported (e.g. Large Polypectomy, BSCP etc) An Education or Research interest can be support by discussion and mutual agreement. I am partnered with a well-established University trust in the North West of England are recruiting substantive & fixed term Consultants into their Diabates & Endocrinology department.  The ideal candidate must have; NHS or Irish experience MRCP UK  It would be a bonus to have; specialist registration & SCE in Diabetes and Endocrinology  You will be joining a team of several Consultants, Associate Specialists & Specialty Doctors.  This is a full time (10PAs) consultant post. This new post will join the existing team to as part of the new on / off rota for the Diabetes and Endocrine Ward (Ward 26). The successful candidate will also participate in the in-patient diabetes and endocrine referral reviews. Successful candidates would form part of the Internal Medicine on-call rota as below. Ideal candidates would have research experience and help to develop our research capability; however, this is not essential, and the trust would encourage candidates with a range of subspecialty interests to apply.
