This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established community team within the Neurodevelopmental and Neurodisability (NDND) Care Group in the paediatric Directorate within the trust. The hospital has a dedicated paediatric outpatient department and a Child Development Centre for children with complex neurodisability and/or neurodevelopmental needs, with input from clinical psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy. There are also excellent links with paediatric neurology, clinical genetics, orthopaedics, respiratory paediatrics, audiology, ENT and child & adolescent psychiatry, including the learning disability team. The Neurodevelopmental Paediatric Service is the largest sub speciality service within the NDND care group, with approximately 1400 new referrals into the service in a year. Children are seen for developmental assessments at secondary Paediatric clinics at the hospital site and in community outreach clinics. The local has developed special schools and units/resource bases for learning and physical disability, emotional and behavioural problems, visual and hearing impairment and autism.
