About the Role:
As a Consultant Haematologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing inpatients and outpatients with haematological disorders.
  • Providing clinical input into the Haematology laboratory and Blood Bank.
  • Offering advice to colleagues in primary and secondary care.
  • Collaborating with Haematologists across the West of Scotland region.

Key Highlights of the Position:

  • The Haematology team provides inpatient care in Ward C5, supported by a dedicated SAS Doctor.
  • Weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings occur locally and regionally via video conferencing as part of the West of Scotland Haematology Cancer Network.
  • Ample opportunities for education and training, including supervising junior doctors and medical students from Edinburgh, Glasgow, and St. Andrews Medical Schools.
  • A fully equipped Haematology Laboratory and Blood Transfusion Department processes approximately 500,000 tests annually.
