I am excited to present an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Haematologist to join the Haematology team at a small district general hospital located in Scotland. About the Role:
As a Consultant Haematologist, you will be responsible for:
- Managing inpatients and outpatients with haematological disorders.
- Providing clinical input into the Haematology laboratory and Blood Bank.
- Offering advice to colleagues in primary and secondary care.
- Collaborating with Haematologists across the West of Scotland region.
Key Highlights of the Position:
- The Haematology team provides inpatient care in Ward C5, supported by a dedicated SAS Doctor.
- Weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings occur locally and regionally via video conferencing as part of the West of Scotland Haematology Cancer Network.
- Ample opportunities for education and training, including supervising junior doctors and medical students from Edinburgh, Glasgow, and St. Andrews Medical Schools.
- A fully equipped Haematology Laboratory and Blood Transfusion Department processes approximately 500,000 tests annually.
