The Acute Medicine department has made significant developments in the delivery of care by a strong dynamic group of consultants and nursing staff. The division continue to see approximately 20,000 patients a year within the 51-bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU), in addition to a weekday turnover of around 30-55 patients in their dedicated Acute Assessment Unit (AAU). Currently the team consists of 12 Consultants in Acute Medicine and 37 Consultant Physicians supporting the on-call rota. Consultants in Acute Medicine do 1:12 weekend on-call. There are a further 3 Consultant Physicians who have a part time commitment to the acute medicine roster. The role is a 10 PA post with the opportunity of 2 additional PA's for development within a specialist interest. I am recruiting for an interventional Consultant for a Teaching Hospital based in Yorkshire on a NHS fixed term contract. Vascular radiologists do not undertake general radiology reporting and involvement in non-vascular interventional procedures is based on matching clinical applications to the team's specific range of expertise. We are working with one of the largest NHS Trust on the South Coast and are assisting with their search for an Emergency Medicine Consultant. This is an exciting time to join a department which has recently undergone significant renovation and expansion and has been rated “good” by the Care Quality Commission”.  You will be joining a team of 7 Consultants and 10 Specialty Doctors and 20 SHOs. The job plan consists of 10 PAs split into 7.5 direct clinical care and 2.5 SPA. The on-call rota will be 1:6 weekends and 1:6 weekdays (both on site). The successful applicant will need to be on the GMC specialist register and have completed all parts of FRCEM. I am recruiting for a Vascular surgeon to work as a Trust grade / registrar or above for a university hospital in the midlands. The hospital is a big major trauma centre & tertiary referral centre. We provide a range of national and internationally renowned specialist services, and we are at the forefront of new surgical procedures and research programmes. As a teaching hospital, we are instrumental in the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. We are proud of our strong relationships with universities across the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to get excellent experience in Vascular Surgery with exposure to emergency and elective services. You will work closely with consultants, other junior doctors and multi-disciplinary teams. The Vascular department is the regional vascular tertiary referral unit. In addition to being a hub for complex elective vascular (including endovascular) referrals, we also deal with a substantial load of the regional vascular emergencies. We are engaged in performing complex vascular surgery including open and endovascular operations and have close links with Interventional Radiology colleagues. We was the first Trust in the UK to perform endovascular surgery and continues to be a driver for this type of surgery. There are weekly MDTs where patients are discussed with various colleagues from around the Trust. There are ample opportunities for work based assessments from the supervising consultants. You will also be allocated a Clinical Supervisor. The post holder will contribute to the 1:8 on-call rota and should therefore have completed core surgical training (or equivalent), have full MRCS, ALS and have experience working within the NHS.

We also have a designated Level 1 Trauma Centre, a Comprehensive Stroke Centre with provision of a 7-day mechanical thrombectomy service, and a regional head and neck unit. Stereotactic radiosurgery is provided within the large Oncology unit. The hospital are seeking Radiologists with UK experience that can do the full range of Breast work, including interventions, screening etc. Unfortunately at this time the department do not have capacity to offer training or support to international candidates so UK experience is essential. However, if you haven’t completed CESR yet this isn’t an issue. The trust is rated GOOD by CQC with performance well within the top % of acute trusts in the UK. You will be involved in audit, quality improvement, MDT, teaching & on calls.
