I am recruiting a GI Radiologist to work in a District General Hospital in Lancashire. (Very close to the city of Manchester). The  Hospital has a reputation for being an excellent District General Hospital with many strong clinical teams supported by a committed Radiology Department. Many clinical specialties have undergone significant expansion over recent years and the successful candidate will be expected to support the service in their area of subspecialist interest in addition to providing general radiological services after discussion and agreement with the clinical directors. The hospital is very much a broad district general facility with an appropriate workload. There is an increasing need for sub-specialisation within the department and most Directorates are supported by teams of two or three Radiologists. There may be flexibility within the department to develop further subspecialisation according to the changing needs of the service and the interests of the candidate. We will be happy to discuss these issues in more detail with any prospective candidate. There is a large general commitment to the department and the candidate would be expected to contribute to this. There is however an extensive skill mix programme as outlined elsewhere to address some of these issues. We are looking for an experienced GI Radiologist to develop local services in line with current strategic priorities. The final job plan will be agreed following discussions between the successful candidate, the Clinical Director and the Chief Executive and will depend on the subspecialty interest of the candidate. Consultants are required to work flexibly to undertake their duties. There may be a need to work during the evenings and weekends to ensure effective delivery of service and its sustainability. Any alterations will be discussed with the Clinical Director and agreed beforehand with all relevant Consultants. Total PA’s: - 10.6 On Call Currently 1:15 rota Weekends can be split into Friday and Sunday one week and Saturday the following week. Availability category A. On-call work is outsourced after 8 pm Monday to Friday. A six hour on site shift is worked 9 am till 3 pm on weekends and bank holidays with outsourcing after 3pm. During outsourcing periods the on-call consultant remains available in-case of IT failure, major incident or urgent ultrasound. I am partnered with a district University Hospital in the south of the UK seeking to appoint a Consultant in Histopathology for a 12 month, fixed term contract (with view to extend). with an interest in pulmonary pathology and one or more of, gynaecological, GI/HPB, and skin pathology. The details of the job plan will be subject to discussion with the clinical leads. An expected 10 PAs will typically be split 8DCC to 2SPA with no on call commitment.  The direct clinical care activities principally include microscopic reporting, macroscopic specimen dissection (increasingly, supervision of scientist led dissection), multidisciplinary team meetings, frozen section cover, reporting with trainees and rapid on-site assessment in cytology clinics.  Slides are allocated using a web based workload management system (SAINTS), developed in-house and based on the RCPath points system to an annualised job plan. The other DCC duties are carried out by rota agreed with the reporting pathologists within each subspecialist team. You will be joining an established team of two consultant pulmonary pathologists. You will also be contributing to at least one other subspecialty, with some flexibility.  There are opportunities to be involved in one or more of gynaecology pathology, breast pathology, skin pathology, GI and HPB pathology.  You will be working within a wider cellular pathology team comprising 23 adult Histopathologist covering all subspecialties aside from medical renal biopsies and cardiovascular pathology, four paediatric pathologists and two neuropathology colleagues. I am partnered with a district General hospital in the south of the UK seeking to appoint a Neuro Radiologist for a 12 month fixed term contract (with view to extend). You will join a team of 23 substantive consultants. Applicants should demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Neuro Radiology.  The Radiology Departments are actively involved in teaching with four radiology trainees on rotation from the deanery. Audit and other continuing professional developmental activities are positively encouraged. First line on call is provided by SpR or staff grade radiologists until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends with on call outsourced to a reporting company overnight. Our General Radiology consultant team is responsible for checking scans the following day to ensure quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota. Daytime cover is also provided for a Malignant cord compression MRI at weekends on the same 1 in 8 rota. This is a great place to work and live, there are easy road and rail links to London (just over an hour away). The south east coast is also very close by boasting some of Britains best beaches. I am partnered with a well-established University trust in the North West of England are recruiting substantive & fixed term Consultants into their Diabates & Endocrinology department.  The ideal candidate must have; NHS or Irish experience MRCP UK  It would be a bonus to have; specialist registration & SCE in Diabetes and Endocrinology  You will be joining a team of several Consultants, Associate Specialists & Specialty Doctors.  This is a full time (10PAs) consultant post. This new post will join the existing team to as part of the new on / off rota for the Diabetes and Endocrine Ward (Ward 26). The successful candidate will also participate in the in-patient diabetes and endocrine referral reviews. Successful candidates would form part of the Internal Medicine on-call rota as below. Ideal candidates would have research experience and help to develop our research capability; however, this is not essential, and the trust would encourage candidates with a range of subspecialty interests to apply.
