About the Role

Kaizen Recruitment is delighted to offer an opportunity to join an established Hospital in the Derbyshire area looking to add a new Consultant Medical Oncologist- Specialising in Lung, CRC, and Germ Cell to the team.

This is a new post within the trust, providing services to patients all over Derbyshire.

The Hospital is seeking to recruit a Consultant Medical Oncologist, who together with 17 other Consultant Oncologists will provide a comprehensive service for the people of Derbyshire.
We are looking for a Medical Oncologist who has interests in Lung, CRC, and Germ Cells but is open to discussions around these, knowing flexibility is important.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will be responsible for:
- Provision of a comprehensive service in Oncology with consultant colleagues. The Department also undertakes a variety of joint clinics with other specialties.
- Provision of emergency cover and reciprocal cover for your consultant colleagues during reasonable periods of leave, on a shared basis. This will include the care of patients and the supervision of junior doctors.
- The care of patients in his/her charge and for the proper functioning of the Department
- Undertaking teaching/training duties as required and actively participating in the postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programs
- Participating in clinical and medical audits and actively contributing to both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance
- Actively participating in continuing medical education (CME)

Person Specification
  • Possession of MRCP or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice

Emergency Medicine Consultant

We are working with an NHS Trust based in the West Midlands who are looking to recruit an Emergency Medicine Consultant for their division. The Emergency team currently consists of a dynamic team of 9 Consultants who are supported by regular input from the Acute Medicine Consultants. The team already has a reputation for driving improvement, and all new appointments will be offered the opportunity to take up lead roles within the department. The Emergency Department at the Hospital currently has approximately 70,000 attendances per year. It is a Major Trauma Unit and incorporates a Children & Young People's Emergency Department. We currently have 20 WTE Specialty Doctors, 15.21 WTE Doctors working on the Junior tier, 9 ACPs, and 8 ENPs. We have recently been able to secure funding to expand the Specialty Doctor tier to 24 WTE, as well as staffing our Minor Illness stream 1000-1800, 5 days a week. The trust is inviting applications for a Consultant Community Paediatrician and Autism Medical Lead. The post holder will be part of the Community Consultant team, with no resident on call. The post is 6pas and will include a mixture of clinical work. We have received a significant investment in our Autism Diagnostic Pathway and the post holder will have a key role in shaping that together with the pathway lead. The post will also supervise trainee doctors in carrying out the supervision of Safeguarding medical examinations (on a rota basis) and general clinics. Clinics will include child development/special schools and Autism Diagnostics (ADOS). We are delighted to be working with an Acute Hospital in Lincolnshire who are seeking a Locum Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine x 6 to join their team to join their team on fixed-term basis. The Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people. We provide acute and specialist services to people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties. We have an annual income of £710 million (22/23) and we employ nearly 8,600 people. The role of Consultant will be contracted to a weekly job plan of 10 programmed activities (PA). Within our roles, we consistently strive to support the community of Lincolnshire in providing specialist medical care to those who need it. As a team, we all have an active involvement in our improvement journey to making both the organisation and the ICU an even better place to work, ultimately aiming to achieve higher standards of care in the service that we provide to our adult Patients.
