Neuro Radiologist

I am recruiting for a Consultant Neuro Radiologist on a fixed term or permanent contract.
Applications are invited for to join our friendly and forward-thinking team and contribute to the activity of our busy department. You will have the opportunity to enhance a subspecialty interest, and to progress your career at one of the largest acute teaching trusts in the country, with opportunities to participate in research, education and radiological innovation.
The 10 PA posts cover all aspects of diagnostic neuroradiology. Subspecialist areas of interest that would particularly complement those of the existing team are adult neuro-oncology, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neurodegeneration, paediatrics, pituitary, spine.
The Neurological Centre is the regional neuroscience unit, providing a dedicated, integrated, 24 hour acute neurosurgical and neurological assessment, investigation and treatment service to adults and children. We also have a designated Level 1 Trauma Centre, a Comprehensive Stroke Centre with provision of a 7-day mechanical thrombectomy service, and a regional head and neck unit. Stereotactic radiosurgery is provided within the large Oncology unit.

About the role:

Initiate appropriate prescribing regimes to clients in line with national legislation/guidance and provide specialist prescribing assessments to opiate, stimulant, tranquilizer, barbiturate, alcohol dependent clients
Conduct phlebotomy tests if required and support nursing team in ensuring that the maximum number of service users are tested for BBVs and vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B
You will need:
GMC Registration with a license to practice
Experience in delivering evidence-based treatments in Substance Misuse Patients
Good knowledge of addictions psychiatry and legislation relating to mental health
Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers including appropriate medical interventions, social care and health issues
UK Psychiatry experience is preferred but not essential

Stroke Consultant

As an agency we are delighted to be working alongside a highly reputable Teaching hospital in the North West of the UK who are looking for an experienced Stroke Consultant to join them.
They have two vacancies available: Associate specialist and a Consultant
The commitments of this post include responsibility for inpatient care of acute and rehabilitation stroke patients, rapid access TIA patient assessments, outpatient stroke clinics, ambulatory stroke care and on-call for the regional tele-stroke thrombolysis service. The job involves rotating every 2 weeks between acute, rehabilitation, TIA Clinics and ambulatory stroke service / ward referrals between 4 consultants.
The Trust is working towards becoming one of Hyperacute Stroke Units (HASU) in the region. The Trust are also in the process of developing an Integrated Community Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Service (ICSNRS). As part of the development of the HASU, we have successfully recruited our first Nurse Consultant and are currently in the process of recruiting into the 2nd nurse consultant post, with future plans to recruit further substantive consultants etc
