Consultant Breast Radiologist
Nottinghamshire
109,000-145,000
Breast Radiologists of all levels needed.
I have unique opportunities available in a one of the biggest and busiest NHS trusts in one of the UKs best cities!
Whether you are an established Breast Radiology Consultant, an SAS looking to develop & enhance their skills or an international consultant looking for their first NHS Breast post then this could be the opportunity for you.
The hospital have an excellent track record of supporting SAS Doctors and international Doctors with fellowships and CESR support.
The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with the 8 colleagues within Breast Imaging, to maintain a comprehensive, high-quality screening and symptomatic breast service. The appointee will also be part of a wider team of radiologists providing sub-specialty and General Radiology services across the Trust.
The post will have a commitment to support a range of diagnostic services including CT, MRI, plain film reporting and ultrasound examinations. An additional specialist interest may be able to be accommodated.
The Breast Service activities are concentrated in two main areas: the symptomatic service for GP referred patients and the NHS Breast Screening Programme.
The Breast imaging service provides a comprehensive diagnostic, screening and interventional service to include vacuum biopsy, Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis. Breast MRI is performed within both the symptomatic and NHSBSP High Risk Screening service.
The breast surgery service within Breast Services provides standard diagnostic and therapeutic surgery, as well as a comprehensive reconstructive surgery service (working closely with the Plastic Surgeons).
The Breast Service is multidisciplinary and includes, surgeons, radiologists, specialist nurses (breast care nurses and nurse practitioners), diagnostic radiographers and administrative/clerical staff.
The Breast Services budget includes funding for all breast inpatient and outpatient activity and breast diagnostic support. We have long established and frequently reviewed clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
The Breast Unit is one of the largest in the country, treating in around 7-800 new breast cancers each year diagnosed from 8,000 new referrals to the daily new referral "one stop" breast clinics.
The service provides a Breast Screening programme as part of the National Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP). The screening service is fully digital and is screening women aged 50 to 70 years.
The breast service also performs high risk MRI screening for our own resident population and clients.
The whole service is subject to very specific and exacting service standards and quality targets, monitoring through the Trent Quality Assurance Reference Centre.
The Unit has an active multidisciplinary research portfolio and is recognised as one of the pioneering and leading breast units in Europe. The Unit excels in breast diagnostic techniques and breast cancer prognostic factors and hosts one of the leading breast education and training centres in the UK.
If interested in this post then please get in touch for more details, alternatively if you have any friends or colleagues with good Breast experience then I am happy to pay a referral fee for successful applicants.
GI Radiologist
Lancashire
£105-000-£145,000
I am recruiting a GI Radiologist to work in a District General Hospital in Lancashire. (Very close to the city of Manchester).
The Hospital has a reputation for being an excellent District General Hospital with many strong clinical teams supported by a committed Radiology Department. Many clinical specialties have undergone significant expansion over recent years and the successful candidate will be expected to support the service in their area of subspecialist interest in addition to providing general radiological services after discussion and agreement with the clinical directors.
The hospital is very much a broad district general facility with an appropriate workload. There is an increasing need for sub-specialisation within the department and most Directorates are supported by teams of two or three Radiologists. There may be flexibility within the department to develop further subspecialisation according to the changing needs of the service and the interests of the candidate. We will be happy to discuss these issues in more detail with any prospective candidate.
There is a large general commitment to the department and the candidate would be expected to contribute to this. There is however an extensive skill mix programme as outlined elsewhere to address some of these issues. We are looking for an experienced GI Radiologist to develop local services in line with current strategic priorities.
The final job plan will be agreed following discussions between the successful candidate, the Clinical Director and the Chief Executive and will depend on the subspecialty interest of the candidate. Consultants are required to work flexibly to undertake their duties. There may be a need to work during the evenings and weekends to ensure effective delivery of service and its sustainability. Any alterations will be discussed with the Clinical Director and agreed beforehand with all relevant Consultants.
