About the Role

Kaizen Recruitment is delighted to offer an opportunity to join an established Hospital in the Herefordshire area looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Paediatrician. A special interest in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine would be beneficial to the department however all special interests would be welcomed. The successful candidate will work alongside 14 consultant pediatricians as part of a welcoming and enthusiastic team providing care to the children and families of Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.

The department offers first class paediatric medicine within a supportive friendly team and delivers a comprehensive range of services. A good general paediatric and neonatal background is the priority and practical skills are essential. 

The duties of the contract are as follows:   
•    To provide, with Consultant colleagues, general paediatric and neonatal services within The Trust for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of illness and the proper functioning of the department. 
•    To participate in the Consultant of the Week (CoW) (2.2 PA) and twilight (1.3 PA) rota. The Consultant of the Week is responsible for all the patients seen by the paediatric team for a consecutive period Monday – Thursday or Friday – Sunday, the week is split to provide better work-life balance. The Consultant of the Week will have no other routine commitments such as clinics. The twilight consultant works evening shifts Mondays - Fridays so that the CoW finishes their shift at 5.00pm. 
•    To participate in the resident 12 hour shift night rota (4 nights per 10 week cycle) (1.9 PA). There is a rest day provided directly before and after each night shift. 
•    To participate in the 1 in 10 non-resident on call rota (0.37 PA). 
•    To perform urgent (acute) Child Safeguarding Medicals when the concern is in the category of physical abuse. This cover is included in the Consultant of the Week and Twilight role and in exceptional circumstances may be provided on a night shift. 
•    To undertake outpatient clinics. 
•    The post holder undertakes to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

•    Possession of MRCP or equivalent
•    Full GMC registration with a license to practice

I am partnered with an Acute NHS trust situated in London, seeking a Consultant in Community Paediatrics. The trust is inviting applications for a Consultant Community Paediatrician and Autism Medical Lead. The post holder will be part of the Community Consultant team, with no resident on call. The post is 6pas and will include a mixture of clinical work. We have received a significant investment in our Autism Diagnostic Pathway and the post holder will have a key role in shaping that together with the pathway lead. The post will also supervise trainee doctors in carrying out the supervision of Safeguarding medical examinations (on a rota basis) and general clinics. Clinics will include child development/special schools and Autism Diagnostics (ADOS). We are delighted to be working with an Acute Hospital in Lincolnshire who are seeking a Locum Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine x 6 to join their team to join their team on fixed-term basis. The Trust is situated in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire and is one of the biggest acute hospital trusts in England, serving a population of more than 700,000 people. We provide acute and specialist services to people in Lincolnshire and neighbouring counties. We have an annual income of £710 million (22/23) and we employ nearly 8,600 people. The role of Consultant will be contracted to a weekly job plan of 10 programmed activities (PA). Within our roles, we consistently strive to support the community of Lincolnshire in providing specialist medical care to those who need it. As a team, we all have an active involvement in our improvement journey to making both the organisation and the ICU an even better place to work, ultimately aiming to achieve higher standards of care in the service that we provide to our adult Patients. We are delighted to be working with a reputable NHS trust in Devon who is looking to recruit a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a special interest in ERCP to join their team. The new appointment will join a team of nine Medical Gastroenterologists, who currently work as a single team, sharing responsibility for the management of both inpatients and outpatients. The Gastroenterology unit is a lively, innovative, and cohesive department. Candidates should be independent in OGD and colonoscopy, an interest in ERCP would be accommodated. Training is an important element of our practice, and our new colleague would be encouraged to engage with the delivery of courses and in-house training. The department has received significant investment over the last 18 months, with a new £4.99m unit which opened in December 2023.
