About the Role
We are working with an NHS Trust based in the East of England who are looking to recruit Emergency Medicine Specialty Doctors for their division.
The Emergency Department, has recently had a new expansion and has opened 4 beds in resus; 16 Majors bays and fit to sit areas. 3 Rapid assessment/ambulance off load area. 6 bays in Ambulatory majors with a further 4 rooms for assessment.
There is a dedicated paediatric facility consisting of a waiting room and 3 cubicles. Paediatric patients make up around 20% of the workload.
There is 7 an Urgent Care are with 6 cubicles and waiting room for minor injury and illness patients.
The hospital has a fully operational floodlit Helipad which provides easy access to emergency care for many of our patients who are injured/fall ill in the more remote areas of the region.
The role is a 10 PA contract which can be divided into 8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA time, there is support for CESR depending on what requirements the successful candidate has.

The Trust is situated in the East of England, north of Cambridge and just below the beautiful Norfolk coastline. There are direct trains to central London and connecting routes to Stansted airport.
Acute Medicine Consultant
Devon
£105,504 to £139,882
We are working with an NHS Trust situated in the South West of the UK who have recently undergone some additional investment to increase their medical workforce within Acute Medicine.
The Trust boast an excellent record in supporting candidates with the Portfolio pathway and have successfully assisted a number of doctors with gaining specialist registration via this route.
In order to support this process the Trust are offering successful candidates 2 year fixed term contracts, this can be extended if more time is required to complete the Portfolio pathway.
The AMU has several distinct functions:
08.00 to 20h00 there is a shop floor AMU consultant continually reviewing patients with junior colleagues.
Patients may remain within the AMU especially when it is expected that they will be discharged within 24 to 48 hours.
There is 14 bedded OPAL unit
There is Specialty Ownership on AMU 7/7
We work closely with our Acute GP colleagues to deliver an integrate Primary and secondary care service Postgrad and Undergraduate teaching is a large part of our roles and we have now been rated as the best trust in the best region for Postgraduate teaching.
Teaching and Training
The post-holder is expected to participate in the teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other clinical staff groups. The post-holder will also have supervision responsibilities for junior medical staff within the specialty.
Study and Training
The post-holder is expected to participate in professional continuing medical education; study leave is provided for this purpose, and the post-holder will be entitled to apply to the Trust’s Study Leave Committee for a contribution to funding of this activity.
Research
Members of the Division are encouraged to pursue approved topics of research. There are funds available within the hospital for approved studies. The use of commercial funds for ethically approved
The job plan is structured around 10 PAs. 2.5 SPA non-timetabled activity during year one of appointment. After the first-year consultants are entitled to 1.5 SPA and an additional 1.0PA SPA is negotiable for specific activities and interests. DCC 8.5 PAs ward work, admin, and PMS teaching.

We are partnered with an Acute NHS Trust based in the West Midlands who are looking to recruit Elderly Medicine Consultants for their department.
Additional investment has been provided to improve their Elderly services at the Trust and within the wider community. These services include:
Frailty services
Orthogeriatric services
improvements in current elderly services

The role does attract an on call allowance with frequency of on calls listed:
