About the Role
I am delighted to announce that a vacancy for a Consultant in Stroke Medicine has become available at a district general hospital based within the Lincolnshire area.
The Trust provides a wide range of healthcare services delivered by 7,800 highly trained staff and volunteers. Our services cost over £400m each year to provide, and we invest around £18m each year in improving our clinical services by replacing and upgrading our medical equipment, modernising our estate and facilities, and improving our information and technology infrastructure. In an average year, we treat more than 180,000 A&E patients, nearly half a million outpatients, and almost 100,000 inpatients.
There is a separate 1:6 Stroke On-Call rota on the Lincoln Site and the Stroke Physicians do not have any commitment to the acute medicine on call rota. There is no in-patient stroke service at the Pilgrim hospital site. The medical team is supported by up to 5 registrar-level specialty doctors, as well as a minimum of 3 resident trainees.
24/7 thrombolysis is provided on Site backed by a full hyper-acute Stroke Unit. The Trust has consolidated down to a single Hyper-Acute Unit as part of wider service reconfiguration following a public consultation of the Acute Services Review. There are excellent established links with the region.
