About the Role

We’re excited to be partnering with a highly respected NHS Trust in the North West as they look to appoint a Consultant Hepatologist to their expanding team.

This is an exceptional time to join the Department. The Trust has recently completed a multimillion-pound redevelopment, transforming its liver unit and significantly enhancing its service provision. As a new Consultant, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Hepatology services in a region with a substantial chronic liver disease burden.

The Hepatology department offers a broad and progressive service, including nurse-led Fibroscan clinics, stable cirrhosis pathways, and a dedicated Hepatitis C service.

Based in a vibrant coastal town, the Trust serves a local population of more than 400,000 and welcomes over 10 million visitors each year. The area offers an excellent quality of life, with outstanding schools, a nearby international airport, and a wealth of sports, leisure, and cultural activities.

The trust are happy consider both UK based and international candidates and are able to provide support for the portfolio pathway (formally CESR).

The job plan comprises 10 PAs:

  • 7 Direct Clinical Care

  • 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities

  • 1.5 On-call duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care through outpatient clinics

  • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team

  • Make a significant contribution to Gastroenterology and Liver Services

  • Support the teaching and training of junior doctors

  • Participate in the GI Bleed on-call rota

Essential Criteria

  • Full GMC registration

  • MRCP or equivalent

  • Relevant Hepatology experience

Consultant in General Medicine

We have been instructed by a large teaching hospital in the North West to assist in their search for a consultant in General Medicine.  You will be joining a well established team and be responsible for the care of approximately 15 acute hospital care inpatients, inpatient rehabilitation outpatient clinics and on-call for general medicine. There will also be an opportunity to explore a special interest. The trust is based in an excellent location, local to a major international airport, several highly rated grammar schools, and plenty of entertainment facilities.  The job plan will be 10 PAs with 8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPAs.
