We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Dermatology to join a dynamic and high-performing team within an acute general hospital in the Manchester area.

Dermatology is one of the busiest and most rewarding specialties at our trust, currently providing expert care to approximately 550 adult and paediatric patients each week. Our success is driven by excellent clinical leadership, effective multidisciplinary collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding care to our community.

Main Duties of the Role

  • Manage a varied clinical caseload, including:

    • Two-week wait referrals

    • New and follow-up patients

    • Inpatient ward referrals

  • Perform minor surgical procedures

  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings

  • Contribute to service development initiatives

  • Support training, mentoring, and professional development of departmental staff

You will be encouraged to take a leading role in shaping the future of the department, particularly as we expand our range of services and clinical roles.

Our trust is also currently developing a tele-dermatology service in partnership with Medical Illustration, and we are preparing to launch a Biologics service for the local population.

The successful applicant will support the delivery of high-quality histopathology and cytopathology services, with opportunities to contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of these services within the Trust. The department welcomes applicants with a specialist interest in Breast, Gynaecological, Uropathology, Neuropathology, and Hematopathology.
